Responsibilities

The growth and expansion of St. Jude has created the critical need for a seasoned project management professional to lead our Central Protocol and Data Monitoring Office during a period of rapid change. This role requires a dynamic leader ready to play a hands-on role in institution-wide systems implementation, service and operational changes. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Supervise 40+ shared-services team members, while managing institutional standards for protocol development, enrollment procedures, and study data management and monitoring 
  • Implementation of innovative ideas to facilitate process improvement
  • Ensure a service-oriented work approach for all team-members
  • Provide creative problem-solving approaches for high-level operational issues
  • Develop strategic initiatives to meet institutional clinical research needs
  • Work in close partnership with clinical and academic departments and with other administrative programs and offices

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in health care or related scientific field is required, advanced degree preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Ten (10) years of related work experience is required that includes five to seven (5-7) years of experience in clinical research involving study monitoring, clinical research project management, SOP and process development, and regulatory compliance
  • Five (5) years of management experience is required
  • Experience using and assisting in the implementation of the following systems:  clinical trial management systems (CTMS), electronic trial master file (eTMF) or document management systems, electronic data capture (EDC)
  • Oncology experience is preferred

Other Credentials

  • Must have certification in clinical research from SoCRA or ACRP or obtain within one (1) year of employment
  • Continued employment in position is contingent on successful completion of certification within the first year of employment
  • Must maintain by re-certification while in position
  • Must maintain appropriate professional competencies and have appropriate training in the protection of human research subjects protection during the first 6 months in the position
