The Radiation Therapist in the Department of Radiation Oncology delivers photon and proton radiation treatments. Radiation Therapists also operate a variety of imaging equipment and related software platforms to perform procedures in accordance with both departmental and hospital policy and procedures.
Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
Two (2) years of experience as a staff radiation therapist in a progressive Radiation Oncology Department preferred. Proton experience preferred.
Certification and registration in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy. As of July 1, 1999, current incumbents are grandfathered into the role with Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
MRI and/or CT certification preferred.
